All Ready For...Bed

I mean really, what's next?

But I can say my hands feel much better, stronger and the tingling is all but gone all day. I had to laugh when the salesgirl at shopper's said I might have trouble falling asleep until I got used to the wrist supports.

Tinkering With CPAP

I'm not sure if messing with my CPAP settings last night has anything to do with it yet but I took a 'no destination' ride tonight for the first time in a long while. My thinking is that with putting on some weight the prescribed pressure setting was too low and I might have been having some low level apnea episodes. Not severe enough to have me nodding off at traffic lights but enough to where my energy for extra activity was just missing. I've been reading lots and often have to munch on something so that I don't snooze, not abnormal I guess but I can do without the munching.

Eowyn has benefited recently from the donated gift card I was given by the Northwood parents. All used parts but definite upgrades. Front wheel, tires, stem and hopefully a new 'old' crank soon. I ordered from ebay for the first time ever, picking up some Giant decals, and she looks almost complete. I sawed off 2 inches from the On One Mary handlebars and have a saddle on the way. Building her up is a big incentive to get out and ride more.

My new plan for Northwood registration seems to be working. I have 6 kids signed for next season. Bingo participation is up and people seem to be happy with the setup so far. Over at Lakehead Minor we're putting in a new constitution and I think the group is finally all on the same page.

Sal and I have tentatively set the first couple of weeks in July as holiday time so we're planning a trip to Calgary. We've decided to take the Impreza as airmile bookings are already filled for the summer months. Once we hit the divided highway Sal says she'll help with the driving. We'll hit in time for the Stampede and maybe even find a few days in BC. Now if I can just find a way to stow a bike so I can do some riding out there.

My Friend Apnea

He's never far way, and over the course of the last month or so he's been climbing on my back. It took me about 12 pounds to realize that something was wrong. I didn't have any energy, didn't really feel like riding or walking or doing anything. I've been looking for things to do and then not wanting to do them once found. I've been dozing alot more in the evenings. Last night I tightened up my mask and I think that may have cured the energy drain as I felt much more with it today (it's 1am as I write this and I got up at 6:15am). A leaking mask causes me to have smaller apnea episodes and it used to drive me crazy to have the pressurized air sneaking between my face and the mask seal. I guess I've gotten used to it and can sleep (poorly) right through it. Now if I can stay out of the fridge and the Christmas goodies maybe I can get myself back on track. I'd love to go for a ride on Molly right now. I have the desire and the energy just not the guts to ride skinny tires on ice and snow, especially at 1am.

Better sleep

I got some paperwork and cleaning done this morning and headed out for a longish ride this afternoon. Bridget and I went out Mountain Road, 61, Riverdale and then in on Hanna, 130 and Broadway. Bridget likes to roll around in the leaves after a long ride.

The Northwood schedule is done and posted to the website so I have a few days off there but inventory is coming up Friday so work will be a bit hectic. Tonight is going to be a nice peaceful evening, I hope.

I tried tightening the straps on my CPAP mask last night as it has been comfortable but leaking around the seals and possibly not working 100%. I felt great this morning with just over 6 hours sleep so maybe there's something to it.
